Much of Dick’s professional career has been geared towards classical trumpet playing but since leaving the Regular Army in 2007 he’s specialised in soprano cornet with brass bands and lead trumpet with big bands – perhaps an unlikely marriage!

Dick started to learn the trumpet from the age of 10, joined the army as a musician at 18 and got the chance to travel the world playing in many famous venues and in the presence of royally and heads of state.
