Biography //

Based in Newcastle - Upon - Tyne, The Strictly Smokin' Big Band is now a well established ensemble in the North East, lead by trumpeter Michael Lamb.

With a repertoire ranging from Duke Ellington to Gordon Goodwin via Buddy Rich, Bob Mintzer, Ella Fitzgerald and Frank Sinatra - there's something for everyone.



We boast some of the North East's finest musicians. We rehearse and perform on a regular basis to keep our music top class. There is a constant investment into new material to give a fresh sound each time you hear us.

The Strictly Smokin' Big Band combines a deep reverence for the big band tradition with the immediacy and excitement of the 21st Century to produce a truly classic yet highly contemporary sound.
